aki_no_karasu. All of the work herein is copyright D.S. Puthoff. I invite and appreciate commentary and constructive criticism. My work has been published in The Pacific Review and Poindexter Online (www.poindexteronline.com). I am also currently an editor of both of these literary reviews.
My biggest influences in terms of style and subject include Mike Doughty, William Carlos Williams, Mary Oliver, Billy Collins, and Charles Bukowski. In the past I might have included T.S. Eliot, W.B. Yeats, Emily Dickenson, Wallace Stevens, or some other poets in this list, but my politics and interests have changed a great deal. Regardless, I am somewhat aware of the poetic tradition and as such it pains me that so few people share this awareness - especially other poets. Some other writers and philosophers that have influenced my work in a more indirect yet tangible way include Nietzsche, Emerson, Marx, Buddha, Adler, Brad Warner (author of Hardcore Zen), Stephen Batchelor, and Lao Tzu. Other writers and poets I enjoy reading (and/or enjoy a healthy discord with) include John Donne, Walt Whitman, ee cummings, and Robert Frost.
